I couldn't be more excited for this collaboration. With Kenzo's trademark of West meets East, use of carefree prints, flowers and color I can only image what this exciting new collaboration will bring. I love the H&M collaborations as it allows everyone to have a piece of some of their favorite designers signature styles at a fraction of the cost.
Kenzo has a long history and impressive history, founded in 1970 by Japanese born Kenzo Takada, the company started out as a women's wear brand with a reflection of Japanese influence but rooted in the Parisian culture. Thirteen years later Kenzo expanded into menswear and five years after that they launched an incredibly successful fragrance and skincare range.
In 1999, Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy bought the label and six years later, in 1999 Takada announced his retirement. Sardinia-based Antonio Marras took the helm as head designer in September 2003 for both the men and woman's collection, continuing Kenzo's trademark color and prints.
Marras left the brand in 2011, and this was when Humberto Leon and Carol Lim were brought on as Kenzo's new creative directors. I can't wait to see what they come up with for the collaboration! Stay tuned!!
