Los Angeles based Makeup artist, Françoise Saint-Pierre is back to talk to us about the best makeup look for Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day!
Thank you for giving us some tips on getting ready for Chinese New Year and especially for Valentine’s Day, Françoise! How do you recommend we prepare for a special evening out?
Regardless of whether you’re spending Valentine’s Day with your hubby, boyfriend or best friends, there’s a good chance that you will be going out and celebrating and we all know that one of the best parts about holidays is the anticipation and getting ready! So here is a couple of easy steps to make it a night to remember. Let’s get ready together!
Hydration is key to a perfect makeup, since tonight is a big deal, let’s use a luxury dry oil. This oil is made for night but I like using it in the morning as well as the evening and it can also double up as a primer.
Love a product that works for a multitude of uses and for day or night! What do you recommend for a primer with a little glow?
To create a flawless candlelight glow I suggest to use a lilac primer, I like Lise Watier Luminous Correcting Primer with Diamond Lumière Complex in lilas, which is amazing for a radiant look. I usually mix it with Base Miracle Pore Minimizing Primer.
Valentine day is the perfect occasion to wear a pink eyeshadow, I like the versatility of Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette. For a subtle look you can start by highlighting the whole lid with a base neutral color of your choice and then applying pinkish glitter color on the mobile lid.
Mix Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place foundation with a couple drop of your favorite liquid highlighter. Apply it first with a foundation dense brush followed by pressing the foundation in the skin with a beauty sponge.
I like to finish the eye makeup by applying a white highlighter in the inner corner Ombre Soufflée in Magie Blanche from Lise Watier. RMS Beauty Living Luminizer is also another good option.
Perfect, and for blush?
This is the best occasion to wear Nars Blush The Multipe in Orgasm! I love the stick formula.
And of course we can’t forget a good lipstick!
It’s the best night to do a bonbon lip. To achieve a reverse ombré lips, first apply the lipstick in the inside of the lips and spread the lipstick outward with your finger (Make sure to give them a good scrub before).
Now we’re done and love the look, any tips on how to set it for as long as possible?
Yes! Just in case we are still up to watch the sunset, I like the dewy finish of the Cover FX illuminating setting spray.
Anything extra we can do for a little added fun?
A little tattoo heart, applied like a beauty mark!
Thanks so much, Françoise!
