Alba was inspired to start the company up in 2008 when she was pregnant with her first child and was unable to find gentle products for her and her baby, especially as Alba had experienced breakouts and sensitive skin as a child.
Working with Christopher Gavigan, who had seven years experience working for a non profit, Healthy Child Healthy World, they began working on their business proposal. Later joining forces with web entrepreneur Brian Lee and then the fourth and final co-founder Sean Kane, The Honest Company was born.
Speaking of the company, Alba has said 'The reason why I went into business was really to create a safer and healthier world for my children and for all children,' continuing, 'The rise of toxic chemicals in our everyday life has contributed to so many serious and chronic illnesses. I felt someone really needed to make better products that are safe, non-toxic, healthy, beautifully designed, affordable and easy to get.'
With the Honest company continuing to expand it looks like Alba's fortune is only set to increase, as she was seen launching the company in Korea this week. Looking fabulous as always in Michael Kors. You have to admire her, hands on mother to two children and with such a successful company that is continuing to bloom, I have nothing but praise for her! Go Alba!!
