Tokyo!

I was so excited to visit Tokyo. I've spent so much time in Asia these past five years but until now had not had the opportunity to visit. Japanese food is my favourtie kind of food, I truly can't get enough of it and having spend the last 1.5 years in Taiwan whilst we shot, released and promoted our movie 100 Days, I have really come to rely on Japanese food with every other restaurant a sushi heaven!! So I was very excited to come to the home of it haha. Aside from the food, obviously another reason for being so excited is because street fashion is so amazing in Tokyo.  The Japanese are known for their love of fashion and not being afraid to experiment with style, making their looks so unique and often making them some of the great trend setters.

On the first day I explored Shibuya, the main city centre and took the opportunity to, of course eat some great sushi, but also take some snaps of some of the great street style in Japan.  I love how the femininity of women here is so embraced, with girls looking immaculately made up. The guys also aren't letting the side down either, wearing some amazing looks. I've noticed hats are huge here for guys and studded lofas and platform boots are massively popular.

It was interesting to note that OTK boots (over the knee boots) which are set to be huge for winter are having a huge moment over here with girls wearing them with cute skirts. (I have rarely seen a girl wear trousers). Luxe coats are also being worn over the look.  Check out some of my fav looks below!

Picture
I was seeing a lot of cute hats on guys, I love the red hat of the guy on the far left. His studded lofas, interesting collar and royal blue blazer caught my eye immediately.
Picture
I accidentally stumbled upon this arena where they were prepping for the concert of Japanese artist called, 'Feel' She seems to be huge as there were so many people lining up for her merchandise ahead of the show. Great opportunity for me to snap some great street style here too!
Picture
Love this beautiful ladies sky scraper over the knee boots - I spotted her at the 'Feel' arena concert area.
Picture
Another cute couple I spotted at the 'Feel' arena area.  Again you can see what a moment OTK's are having here. Especially with shorts, skirts and cape jackets. Loving the guy's coloured trousers and use of layering with his sweatshirt and jacket.
Picture
I thought this image on the left was so great. These girls getting ready for the 'Feel' concert. It reminded me so much of Gossip Girl and 'The Steps!'
Picture
Japan is such an international place as you can see- I spotted this cute girl on her bike headed away from the city centre. It was such a great moment, seeing this beautiful pale girl with strawberry blonde hair, in retro English style clothes with her floral mid length skirt, tights with sling backs and cosy beige sweater on her old school bike with basket. Beautiful and a style all of her own.
Picture
On the way over to the city I walked over a bridge and saw this French lady walking along the bridge on stilts with her all white outfit she looked quite something. Loved the sparkly turban as well!!

Picture
The street style of the young guys in Japan is so well put together, these guys looked like they should be in a band!

Picture
Quick snap of the city centre! wearing a Burberry mac, Seven for all Mankind jeans, and Ash high tops.
Picture
After soaking up some of the pulse of the city and snapping some great looks, it was time for a beer cocktail! Orange Juice and stout!! delicious!! (Wearing CK sweater, Zara necklace)
Picture
Japan is so ahead with tecnology. Most restaurants and little food booths have a ticket machine where you choose your food, pay for it and then hand the ticket to the chef to make. This pic was taken at an amazing crepe place I came across!
Picture
Here I snapped a couple of other girls enjoying the amazing crepe's! Love their 60's style sunnies!!
Picture
Picture of the amazing drink vending machine's that are dotted all over the city. This one was at the airport after I arrived. Tried the grape juice and aloe vera- was so good! Check back later for more on Tokyo!! Well, for now beauties, さようなら (Goodbye!!) I'm off to explore some more!!!

Day Two in Tokyo and today was the day to visit the Ninja Restaurant. I don't want to spoil it in case any of you decide to go, but it's definitely worth a visit! A great experience and the atmosphere is fab.  The food is also delicious, something that often is not too high on the list with themed restaurants but this is definitely an exception!! Ahead of the Ninja restaurant we went to Hooters! It was very cold outside and it was right next door, but have to say their frozen Margarita was delicious!!!!

VB and Eva Longoria- continued BFF's

Picture

It's certainly seems to be a rarity in Hollywood circles but VB end Eva Longoria do seem to have a wonderful friendship.   Both have a wicked sense of humor, and a love of fashion which I'm sure has bonded the two when Victoria moved to LA.  Eva has often said how great it is to have a fashion designer as your best friend and the above picture seems to be case in point!

I'm not sure Victoria stayed on the ground to pin Eva's entire dress, cut and seam it (!) but it is a cute picture and does show how close the two lovely ladies are.

It's been a great year for Victoria Beckham as her fashion line goes from strength to strength and only last week we saw her win The Bambi award in the fashion category.  The Bambi award is the oldest media awards ceremony in Germany and has been held annually since 1948, to top the honor off her award was presented to her by Karl Largerfeld.

H&M Fans left disappointed : Isabel Marant collaboration

As I wrote about in my last blog, this collaboration with H&M and Isabel Marant was the most hotly anticipated yet, with its customers ready to click on the H&M page at the strike of 9am on the 14th November! The customers who were able to log on were barely able to click their wool cardigans into their basket before the whole system crashed.  Twitter was awash with frustrated fashion hungry fans ranting about the system crashing and complained about being placed into a queue whilst the server tried to keep up with demand.  Shortly after, the website completely shut down in order to reboot and handle the fashion pack (virally) knocking down the door.

Probably not the best person to annoy was New York based Caitlyn Carpanzano, a 27-year-old public relations professional, who says that one of the four items she ordered through H&M’s U.S. site was cancelled.

One day after placing the order  - her credit card was charged for the full purchase amount - but then shortly after received an email entitled ‘One or more items you ordered have been edited’. The email then went on to explain one of her items wouldn't be sent as it was sold out.

On August 1st this year H&M launched its U.S. e-commerce site and The Isabel Marant capsule collection was the retailers first collaboration to be sold online to American consumers.  Whilst I've no doubt H&M will do everything they can to fix the problems for the next collaboration, I'm sure ultimately they were just very pleased with the overwhelming response.  By partnering up with these very coveted and often inaccessible designers for many, I'm sure despite the frustrations, many customers will still be ready to click and buy at the strike of 9am on its next guest designer collaboration.

Anyway, enough with the down side of the saga. let's get back to the fashion!!!  Here are some pics of those who attended the Isabel Marant pour H&M bash! Did anyone get their hands on the collection?!

In 2004, H&M partnered up with its first guest designer, Karl Lagerfeld, offering a few select stores the exclusive collection.  This was set to be the first of many after its success which saw the collection being sold out within the hour.

Roll on 9 years and we have seen H&M partner up with a succession of other designers including Stella McCartney, Versace and Lavin to name just a few.

In September 2013, Isabel Marant announced that she would be releasing a high street collection with H&M, making her ( I believe) the 19th guest  collaboration with the chain.  However, this is set to be the most eagerly anticipated in H&M's history of collaborations with items already being pre sold on e-bay at up to four times their retail price.

With over 100 pieces (including full menswear outfits for the first time ever for Marant) in the collection, those first in line can get the designers collection at a fraction of the cost, but you'll have to hurry- I foresee stock being sold out in a flash.  Let's hope the website doesn't crash!

Meet Isabel Marant: see the designer talking about where she gets her inspiration from and her upcoming collaboration with H&M :

Below are some of my fav pieces from the upcoming collection

Marks and Spencers new Christmas Ad!

Picture

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley seen here in the new M&S campaign modeling her Rosie for Autograph lingerie and sleepwear range.

Marks and Spencer's started its famous brand at Kirkgate Market, Leeds, in 1884.  Since then it's certainly gone through some highs and lows during the course of its history. I think the most impressive thing about the store however, is its determination for reinvention.

Working with some of the most relevant stars today, and covering such a broad range , from singers to actresses through to former Victoria Secret's model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley who stars in their latest Christmas campaign along side Helena Bonham Carter and David Gandy.

I love this new campaign, its like a short movie, directed by Johan Renck, taking us on a  fairy tale-themed world, involving some of Children's most magical and best loved stories, including Alice in Wonderland, Red Riding Hood and The Wizard of Oz.

Take a look at the video below. Who else suddenly feels all Christmassy? I'm ready to wear this seasons luxe oversized coat, and enjoy a mince pie next to a log fire already!!!

100 Days premiere- Wearing Roberto Cavalli

On Tuesday 29th October I had the premiere for the Taiwan movie I produced, 100 Days which was released nationwide in Taiwan on November 1st.  I was wearing a Roberto Cavalli dress for the event.  I adore this dress, it feels so elegant but is also so comfortable to wear.  The broach in the middle also means you don't have to wear any other jewelry, perhaps just a cocktail ring as it's elegant and detailed enough by itself.
