Tuesday November 4th, Beyonce joined to celebrate the opening of Topshop's new flagship store in New York City on Fifth Avenue, looking stunning wearing an £80 ($130) Topshop dress. As previously reported on Eurasian Vogue, Beyonce has confirmed that she and Topshop owner Philip Green are working on a joint venture to create an athletic clothing line set to open in 2015.
During the store opening Beyonce told CNBC, “I’ve been such a huge fan for so many years. It’s just a natural thing for us.”
Cara Delevingne who is currently the face of Topshop was also in attendance, as well as Philip Green and the Green family. The New York store is the 2nd largest Topshop store boasting 4 levels, 3 of which are selling floors and spans an impressive 40,000 square feet and staffs 300 employees. The largest store still remains the original UK Topshop flagship store on Oxford street. However, Philip Green is making moves to make Topshop a big presence in the U.S. They just recently opened a store in San Diego, and also have stores in Chicago, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
Speaking of their plans for growth in the US Philip Green said, "I'm not going to tell you the exact figures but we have got to take tens of millions of dollars here to make it work so it's a commitment . We opened in San Diego five days ago we're signed to go to Houston and Atlanta in the next 6 months. So we've put a stake in the ground – let's see how we can grow the business."
